Actually, there is one (very) important difference between the 2: Any motor out of an automatic FWD (incuding DSM's) will have this ring around the crank:
This NEEDS to be removed if the block will be going into a manual (or AWD I would imagine, auto or not). If not, the flywheel will do just that and go flying Other than that, it doesn't matter what used to be on it, just what you are going to put on it.
