It's always POSSIBLE to do swaps. The question is how mnuch expertise, time, and money will it take.
Agreed. I mean they even have Mirage's with 4G63 motors in them running around, although I've head that's a b*tch to put in. Now for a different swap. 3000GT VR-4 motor into a Eclipse LOL. Now that would be hella different, but I don't think you could do it, but it's always nice to dream haha

First, 4g63's drop right into '89 turbo Mirage's (with the 1.6l). All that is really needed is the motor, ECU, intercooler, fuel, and a new exhaust. Even the tranny is about the same as a 1g turbo tranny and can hold the abuse. The 4g63 also drops into Mirages with the 1.5l N/A (4G15) relatively easy. The mounts are needed but it will still bolt right in. Just some wiring work to do. Anyways, point is, all three of those engines are relatively similar (the 1.6 and 2.0 are practically identical). Now, putting a considerably heavier 6 cylinder into a T/E/L would be foolish imo. It is a 3.0 block, so while you are gaining 2 more cylinders (I would rather have less...cheaper, better on gas, etc) you are only gaining a liter of displacement. Now, there are tons of strokers out there (2.3) as well as 2.4l that work very very well in a T/E/L. I see no reason why anyone would ever want to go through the trouble of trying to bolt in a 6g72 (which like I said is considerable heavier and doesn't even take to mods as well as the 4g63 does), but that's just me. Does a turbo 6 cylinder sound appealing...of course! (Think Skyline, Supra, etc) but I just don't think it would be worth it even if it could be done. Just as almost everyone feels about swapping in a 4g into a 2gnt...just not worth it.
