VERY good chance that the balance shafts are out of alignment. That would be the cause of the shaking. Pulleys can be re-used, but sometimes they need to be cleaned and packed with new grease. At 60K they should be fine. The timing can be off a tooth and be just fine. Best thing to do is have someone check the timing with a timing light. But definately have the balance shaft alignment fixed!!!! Pronto. The engine bay can be washed, even pressure washed, you just need to keep the spray aimed away from the spark plug area and an open element air filter.
