If you feel inclined to do so, and you have alot of time to have your tranny out of the car, I'm sure you could learn how to put it back together by taking it apart and studying it as you do it. While I'm not sure about doing so myself, I guess there is no harm in doing the work yourself if you think it is easy enough once you get inside the tranny.
I do most of my own work, (with Jeff's help of course ) but the tranny is something I'm not sure I'd try and do on my own. I'll have mine sent away for a rebuild when I have the money. That being said, try it out, and see if you can figure it out. Might be a cinch, who knows.
Also: I'm too lazy to go grab my chilton's. Does it have any internal stuff for the DSM trannies? if it does, that could be a good resource.
