I think everyone missed what he said. Its not the actual CV joint he's talking about, he's talking about the carrier bearing and support on the drivers side CV shaft. Because it is so long, a center support is necessary to keep driveline whip and vibration down. If that bearing and rubber mount are worn enough to spin it around the shaft, there's your problem more than likely. It could vibrate the car even at idle, you'd be surprised.
