Same here. Working with C-level execs everyday proves this point even further. You are grossly misinformed if you think the board knows about this, or even cares about this. Look at it from their perspective...

They are a multi-billion dollar company. The Board members are probably less than 1% of the entire upper management structure at a company the size of GM. I's not the boards desire, nor job, to deal with customers on a singular level. Here at our company where I manage 65 people, the board will never ever hear of any issues outside of corporate, finance, or sales. On purpose. Besides why would the board, or any person at GM show signs of concern when you are actually still buying a product from them! They can say or do whatever they want but at the end of the day the still made the sale to you.

My advice would be to get your deposit back and walk away.
