I was at Midnight Madness this passed Saturday night here in San Antonio and saw 2 evo 8's running. They both ran mid-15's. I was completely baffled because I could have sworn these cars were a mid-to-high-13 second car. Now, they both had passengers, but at SAR (San Antonio Raceway) you're allowed to run down the 1/4 with a passenger if your car runs 14 seconds or slower. The two lined up next to each other, so I thought, cool, they'll run probably all out and let off at the end to stay +14.
I had to look several times when the 15.52 showed up on the board. I was like WTF??? They weren't plain lancers, unless the body work was done perfectly, including the factory-looking i/c.
Is this normal? I'm guessing they were sand-bagging, waiting for a mid-14 second car to put some money down or something.
