I think I might be apologizing to the guy who suggested the aftermarket wheel plate idea. I went to take a pic as requested and in doing so there actually is something that goes around where the wheel mounts that looks cleaner and newer than the rest... Can anyone confirm this is the case and it comes off before I start prying on it with a screwdriver... Lol
