When counter-steering, you really only need to counter-steer half as much as you think. Too much and you'll grab taraction, then totally spin out the other way.

Edit: I don't drift, I just know that. Drifting is dangerous, fucks up your tires perhaps your suspension, and could damage rims...I'm too 'showy' to drift.
