also i just looked and the power wire stud on my alternator is bent, to get a flush connection when tightened down i will need to bend it straight, is this safe or should i get another one?

You could try bending it back, but it's rather brittle. I broke that stud off the alternator altogether one time, just by removing the nut. So give it a try, but be aware that you may need a new alternator (unless you can figure out a way to replace the stud).
