#137578, "Diference in 95-96 and 97-99 Crank sensors."

Can anyone tell me i there is a difference between the 95-96 and 97-99 crankshaft position sensors besides the fact of them being early model round pins to late model flat pins? Im talking maybe in sensor magnet length or anything? I am still having issues with no crank signal running MSnS and just realized that I am using what I believe to be a 96 engine block and a sensor for a 98. Im wondering if the magnet is not long enough to pick up a signal off the crank sensor.
