That we do. We've had two leaky bedplates due to install error and this is the stuff we've used to successfully fix them all.

This is exactly right too. There is a diagram showing where to put it in the FSM, but you understand the concept. No gaps in coverage anywhere and make sure you torque the bedplate properly. The excess will ooze out and then you just wipe it off with a rag. No sweat imo.
