I started by getting that stupid, mangled oil filter off. Next, i tapped rod caps again, getting the same noises i did before.
I pulled a bunch of shit off, including the valve cover. I went to go put the oil pan back on so i could get the head off. I noticed what looked like scratches in the bottom of the pan were actually metal shavings..... Sweet! Not.
I wanted to pull the head today but i have no idea how to get the passenger side motor mount bracket off. The mount itself was cake. Chances are good i'm just going to pull the engine if i can find somebody to loan me a cherry picker...which probably wont happen. Ofcourse, i'll have to pull more money out of my ass and buy one.
I'm just going to leave the car alone for a while. It's pissing me off. I wish i had somewhere to park it where i didn't have to look at it.
Fun couple of weeks. I kill my car and find out my gf is pregnant. Timing couldn't have been better.
Any tips on getting that stupid motor mount bracket off? Nothing is in the way really aside from the inner fender. Those bolts are rediculously long. The crossmember is already off so all the motor is being supported by is a jack, the rear roll stop and the driver's side trans mount.
