Just finished replacing clutch. Drove car, no problems. Son drove car and called and said it quit pulling. Got it back home and with engine running, can shift into any gear without mashing clutch. No movement. Slave cylinder looks like it is moving full stroke. All the cables are fine and linkage moves with each shift. I have only owned manual cars and this is a first. Has anyone ever had this happen ?

If you can run the car and get gears then the clutch and tranny are probably working (unless you broke the input shaft and then there's no transfer of power to the tranny). If the hydraulics weren't working, you would not be able to shift into gears. This makes me suspect that son probably did a few holeshots and threw a pin or just busted the diff.

Put her up and take a look to see if, by any chance, an axle is broken. Otherwise, you're looking at pulling the tranny and cracking the case.
