#4242, "No overdrive when reverse light fuse removed?"
The other day I decided to install some new reverse light lenses and hyper white bulbs, while I was at it I converted from 1156 to 1157 bulbs. One of my friends tried to "help" and mixed up the wiring on one side, which blew the fuse. I fixed his mistake and drove up to Autozone to get some replacement fuses and guess what?...no over drive?!?! Even putting then shifter in low-1 and low-2 it would just shift 1st through 3rd and that's all. Put in a new fuse and it shifted fine through all gears, o/d switch worked and manually shifting it worked too. Does this sound normal? How would the reverse light circuit have any affect on the actual shifting of the transmission? Any comments or explanations would be appreciated. Thanks in adavance.
