the gears are not stronger,and the tranny itself is no better. Now if your talking about the SOHC neon with the 3.55 taller gears well...Only do it if you have the torque to back it up. It will make your car SLOWER if you dont. All the neon tranny info can be found on the main page under FAQ under MT tranny
