Ok guys and gals.. its that time of the year again.

You wanted a big ASOG meet.. well.. here it is. This is gonna be one of those weekends you may consider taking a day or 2 vacation from work, I know I will... its gonna be fun.

Ive spoken with a few of you SoCal-ers and you said youd be willing to make the drive for this one... so lets see what you think about this.

Basically.. Im gonna put together a "ASOG Weekend". I want to keep this interactive with all of you so Im going to need your input as to what we should do for one day of that weekend, Ill be adding a poll for this thread for ideas. This meet will be based upon July 27ths Extreme Autofest Car Show in Sonoma, NorCal. After trying to put the last AZ ASOG meet together Ive realized that not all of you want the Car Show deal... a lot of you were more down to just hang out, BBQ, shoot a cruise, work on cars... etc. Sooooooo... were gonna put something together that will tailor to all of us!!!!! For those that wanna hang out and meet other members.. this is for you. If you wanna hang out with members you already know and have a BBQ.. this is for you. If you want to go to a car show and watch some of your fellow members participate... this is also for you. There will be NO push for show participation.. so all of you that were previously intimidated by the car show "PUSH" no need to worry, we aint doing that this time. If you wanna show.. cool.. if not.. no biggie and you wont get any crap for not participating in the show, them days are over.

The weekend: July 25,26, and 27. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.

The basis for this meet: To meet and greet fellow ASOG members.. there will be other car clubs invited too. SRT4 Club, 3G Eclipse Club, 2G Strat Club, Stratusphere, and 2GNT.

The main event for this meet: Extreme Autofest July 27th Car Show at Infineon Raceway, Sonoma, CA... which is a Sunday. Resgistered participants need to be at the Venue at 8am at the latest, from what I remember.

Other plans for this weekend: This is where I need your help.. these are our options for Saturdays events for this weekend. Im leaving it up to all of you to decide what we do, check out the options below, vote, or voice your opinion.

-FRIDAY-

Get to Sacramento... that is all. For those that are local you can choose to hang out on Friday night or stay home and gather up with us on Saturday morning.

More then likely we'll just hang out at my place on Friday night... or possibly BBQ, or go out for dinner, or Ice Cream.

-SATURDAY-

A) Saturday morning we go to breakfast, if we get up, then head to a place here in Sacramento called "RPM Motorsports". Its one of Californias newest indoor go-kart facilities... www.raceplacemotorsports.com .. its a European designed race track, high HP karts, no cheesy karts either these are like the real shifter karts. I havent been there yet but have friends that have been.. and they say its completely off the HOOK! Prices are available on that site.. ranging from $38-$55 for groups with real racing.. this is for groups of more then 10 people, Im sure we can get more then 10. 2 seperate heats and one main event. Ranging from 50 laps - 80 laps, depending on which even we want to do.

After the RPM Motorsports racing, some time in the early afternoon, we head back to my house or a designated area for a BBQ. Probably a park nearby my place.. or somewhere here in Sacramento, there are plenty of places. We BBQ till were stuffed with chicken, tri tip, and chips.

Saturday night we head back to my house to watch movies and detail cars.. or we could even GO to a movie at the theatre, then some night time detailing.

B) Saturday morning we do the breakfast thing, if we get up. After we eat we head out up the freeway towards beautifull Lake Tahoe! Why drive to Lake Tahoe? Well.. 1) its a FUN drive! 2) Its a BEAUTIFULL place! 3) Great places to stop and get lunch. 4) We can stop at a Casino and gamble a bit if we want. If youve never been to Lake Tahoe its deffinately a cool place to go and see if you havent already. I-80 Freeway runs right up to Lake Tahoe North Shore, then we take a different highway to get to the lake which then runs ALL THE WAY around the lake, to South Shore. Once we are at South Shore we can gamble.. kick it at a spot on the lake for a while... go grab lunch.. then head back to Sacramento from South Shore which is HWY-50. The complete run from I-80 Sacramento - HWY-50 back to Sacramento is about 4-5 hours total, but its a GREAT ride!

Upon return to Sacramento we can head back to my house and have a small scale BBQ while detailing the cars.. then watch a couple DVDs at my house.

C) Saturday morning we do the breakfast thing.. if we can get up.. notice a trend here? After breakfast we head out for a BBQ at Folsom Lake. At Folsom Lake I can reserve a BBQ spot that will accomodate about 50 people... BBQ pit, about 10 tables, right on the lake, even our own CLEAN bathrooms. Some of you may remember the last meet we did at Folsom Lake.. it was a GREAT time! Lots of people showed up... we ate LOTS of great food.. some hit the water. Im sure I can get my buddy to bring his Big Block Chevy powered jet boat out to do some skiing or the like.

After the BBQ we can shoot a cruise around Folsom Lake... head back into Sacramento.. maybe hit up a Ice Cream place or Coffee shop... then back to my place to detail and watch movies.

D) Screw all the running around.. I just want to get to Sacramento on saturday cause I cant take time off work to come up on Friday.. maybe do a small BBQ at your house... detail the cars.. then go to bed and get rested for the show.

Sonoma is about 45 minutes West of my place in Sacramento. Last Sonoma Extreme Autofest show we did we got up REALLY early and was in Sonoma at 5:30am, we all met up at a Dennys about 10 miles from the show in Vallejo. We had breakfast then headed to the show. Looking back we could probably knock off an hour of time to get there.. it wasnt really neccessary to be there that early.

Like I said.. Sonoma is about 45 mins West of Sacramento. If I remember correctly the show starts at 10pm, I cant find a time on the website yet. I can have printed directions for those that arent registered so you can sleep in and go on your own time. Last time they let people that werent registered into the venue early to help people out friends with their cars... so if you want to go early you can.

The show ends at 5-6pm.

-MONDAY-

Personally Ill be taking Monday off from work. If you would like to do the same and need a place to crash I can accomodate a few people at my house. We can head back to Sacramento after the show.. get some sleep.. then hang out on Monday until you want to head back home.

NOTE!

I can accomodate a few people at my house for this event.. however.. my house is small.. if you dont mind sleeping on the floor I dont mind having as many people that can fit.

I have a HUGE backyard... if anyone wants to bring a tent to camp out in the back thats cool too... seriously.
