#1631, "Movies and PIX of SFRautox@Oakland Coliseum!"

Well I went to the San Francisco Region autocross at Oakland Coliseum with a bunch of my friends on the 3rd. Man there were too many cars competing today. Like 200+ people entered. It took like 10 minutes in between laps for me.

Randy came later with his AW11 (the older MR2) it was a pretty sweet ride. I found out that one of the damn bolts that connect my turbo to my exhuast manifold popped out and was embeded in my downpipe flange. After scavenging around the parking lot for a 16mm wrench I finally got one from a dude with a black WRX. Props to black WRX man for lending me the wrench.

There were lotsa crazy cars that ran today like tricked out starlets, 600 HP corvettes, RSXs, Celica GTS, AE86s, etc...

I was running my new drift setup today. I had yoko AVS/ Ohtsu tires in the front. Yeah they're mismatched and I had garbage Dunlop Qualifiers in the rear with 400 treadwear. They were 205/4016s also so imagine how little grip they gave. The car was very tail happy, when I left foot braked the car's tail would whip around the corner. Some of the turns were a little too steep for drifting and it really killed my time but I felt this setup is good for autocross/drifting.
I used nothing but left foot brake the 1st and 2nd runs. Then 3rd I used left foot brake and ebrake. I have to say the course was not a good drift course. I really messed around the 3rd round, since I got a decent time I decided it's time to get sideways. I manage to murder 3 cones and kill more along the way, bwahahaha I was the Kone Killa! I got in trouble after also. One of the officials came up to me and said that I'm taking the corner too sideways (bwahahha I take that as a compliment) and that I should either adjust my tire pressure or adjust my driving principles. Haha I think both needs adjusting! That was the highlight of the day, the rest was so so. Watching crazy 600HP corvettes hurtle themselves around corners is always a treat to watch.

Anyway for your viewing pleasure I have 4 videotaped runs for you to see. The first three are of me as I mention in the above section and the last one is someone I know through Kory, Andrew Phan. He's like the regional champion I heard and placed 4th in a stock NX2000 today in his class. His buddy got 1st in his class! How is he hella faster than me and the 2GNT? It's magic it's a mystery, haha it's probably because I suck at autocross.... ENJOY ^_^
