They've been doing this for years man, it's nothing new. YOu get a long ribbon cable...kinda like what you see in your computer, so that it has like 25 small wires on one long flat assembly. Then you solder each wire to the connection pins on the face plate, then solder the other end in the same order to the head unit. You need a micro soldering kit though, cuz your normal soldering stuff would just cause a big puddle and fuck it all up.
