#31641, "A/F gauge wiring ?"

OK, I got the autometer A/F gauge so I can put my pillar to use. My question concerns the wiring. Which wire do I need to tap into at the ECU? Also, where did you guys wire the power wire too (it has to turn on and off with the ignition) TIA

tap into the black wire with the white stripe at the ecu, and you can run the power into the fuse box and tie it into the radio fuse.

use the positive (blue wire) and neg wire from the cigarette lighter connection, its easy to get too, just pull the left side panel on the center console.

Ill definitely try that out Stan, cuz Ive got the gauge wired to my stereo power and ground right now and not only does it not work unless the radio is off, but when the radio is on the bass doesnt hit as hard and the music sounds distorted like I need an amp. Is that how you had all your gauges wired?

I have *heard* that using any other ground than by the ECU can cause some faulty readings, its just a thought. I ran my signal wire from the white/black at the ECU, and a ground where the ECU is grounded, and ran that into the car. I tapped into my ignition cylinder wireing for switched power for all my gauges.

OK well let me ask you this, did you use the chassis ground that is on the drivers side fender or did you use one that was right off the ECU like the signal wire? Also how do I get to the ignition wire that you used? Sorry for the questions, but I want to be absolutely sure that I get this right. When hooking up the gauge I had problems with my car. It seemed like the car was dumping a shitload of gas in and was making it stumble, it sounded like it had some very radical cams in it.

Find a blue/black wire at the ignition cylinder harness under the driver dash. This is the accessory wire, which is 12volt swithced. I used the ground at the chassis by the ECU, the one on the driver side, its the one you were talking about above. I just took that ground off, used a file to get down to bare metal around that hole, and used a ring terminal and a wire and bolted it back down. Then ran that along with the o2 signal wire into the car. No probs what so ever like this.
