#10809, "DVD Audio?"

I was reading the manual for my HU the other day and it said that it plays DVD Audio, but it didn't explain what that is...so the question is, wtf is DVD Audio?

"We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or great depression. Our great war is a spiritual war; our great depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires and movie gods and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very , very pissed off"

I think its like the highest quality audio on a CD. Kinda like how HDTV is for tv's, DVD audio is like high def audio.

Read again what you just typed... DVD audio... on a CD...???? umm no.

DVD-Audio offers at least 74 minutes of very high quality, surround sound, plus additional features (such as video and limited interactivity) that are not available on CDs. Capacity of a single layer DVD-Audio is of high quality full surround sound audio. In addition the disc can accommodate the same audio encoded as Dolby Digital for playing on existing DVD-Video players.

DVD-Audio is a different format that SA-CD(super audio CD) and is a limited format. You dont see many of them and you probably won't.

That's like saying your car is the same as a GSX, two totally different creatures that just happen to look similar.

DVD audio was created where I work. It never really took off. The DVD/CD audio box sets are what have taken off. In DVD the 80mm disc will soon be replacing our standard disc.
