the thing that is holding you back is a cable attached to the "fresh air" switch thingy...(very techinal term)

its on the right hand side of the vent, a cable attaches the switch via a plastic hoop and hole, take a flash light to that side (right side) pry ou the peice, and you should be able 2 figure it out...

hope that helps...

yup.. just jam a flathead in there to get it out as far as it itll go, then from there. just remove the harnesses for the buttons. the first time you do it, it may be a little stiff.. just wiggle it a bit, and it should losen enuff to get to the harnesses.

^^what once was^^

^^what is now.. and permanently^^

check your head unit for your stereo. Mine had a clip on each side holding it in, so I pulled the face surround off, and pried back the tabs to make clearance. After I re-installed the painted piece, I bent them back. I have a pioneer head unit. I dunno if yours has the same or if this is what u needed. Hope it helps.
