I'm thinking of trying this since the paint on my 95 2g is pretty hashed from letting the car sit for 3 years and I can't even afford to have maaco do the job with my prep, at least until i can save up for a real paint job like ed

$10K? When i worked at a body shop, i figured for a full custom paint job it only would have cost $7k and that was letting the guys do all the prep and replacing mouldings, etc. closer to $4k if i did most of the prep

Yea $10k, for repainting my car red, no custom paint or anything, just factory red. And they kept telling me how they would probabbly have to keep the car for over 4 months. I found th estimate again, Ill take a pic of it.
