unfortunatly, i am not gonna be able to work on the car today so it will have to wait another week, i was given the idea of checking the acc belts because i had one squeak the day the noise popped up. the alt belt is a little loose but i dont think loose belts make a loud noise like this. then i thought, duh!, take a video. it is not that great of quality but it should get the job done. the pitch is not really has high in real life. the video sound is not that great but it gets the point across. the noise is coming from underneath the timing belt cover. i couldnt get any other bracketts that i could reach to move. here is the link, let me know what you think. points for people that provide good ideas.

It could be that one of the belts split and is flapping against various parts of that area of the engine. It may also be a loose pulley or pulley bolt too. The bolts on the water pump pulley are hard to reach and torque down, so check those for sure.
Take off the upper timing belt cover and see if you can locate the problem. If you don't see anything, it should at least be able to figure out where it is coming from.

thanks jeff, points for you. would i be able to use loctite on bolts that are hard to get to? my dad suggested that and i think it sounds like it would be alright, but i am not a completely super smart mechanic guy either.

Well as long as you properly torque down the bolts, you won't really need loctite. I did my timing belt a year and a half ago and haven't had any bolts come loose. I would take off the acc belts, tighten the bolts, and install the belts again to see if that helps.
Are you sure all the timing belt marks lined up correctly? Did you use a torque wrench everywhere?

i used a torque wrench everywhere we could fit one. the only one we had is 1/2 drive. pretty sure timing is correct. idle is good, belt lined up perfectly. i fought with it for a while trying to get the oil pump gear to line up right but it finally kicked over right i drove it for about a week until this happened and that is why i think something came loose. i will know next saturday. i just hope that if we getting it going again, it doesnt happen again. i need to drive this car for winter and dont want to worry about stuff coming loose...
