#12443, "Type S flutter or surge?"

Ok, My type S will make an odd sound, like a fluttering, when I ease of the throttle at partial boost. (i'm on a T-25) It has been getting a little worse lately (or maybe i'm just driving more conservatively), but question is:

Do these valves make a "fluttering" sound under partial boost, or is this surge? I think I surged the turbo once when I was tuning the boost controller, and it was a very deep like "dunk dunk dunk dunk"...am I just being a worrywart about this flutter?

Thanks!
Vandy

my type s would make the flutter when you ease off throttle at low boost and a swish if you got off quick. I believe this is normal.

Yeah the flutter is pretty normal. alot of the adjustable BOV's will flutter a bit after letting off partial throttle, so don't worry. If you get the heavy chugg, chugg, chugg sound then you have your surge.

I wish I had things to worry about but until I get several thousand dollars, I have no car issues to speak of. But, best of luck to you. Hope all goes smoothly.

it helps a little but won't totally get rid of it. Just stop driving "conservatively" and no worries.
