Ok, I know 1G and 2G plug wires are different... I'm just trying to understand how and why?

On a 1G, according to Chiltons, the resistance is

Cyl 1- 5.8 ohms
Cyl 2- 8.4 ohms
Cyl 3- 10.6 ohms
Cyl 4- 9.7 ohms

... so I kind of deducted that the longest wire goes on cylinder 3, not cylinder 4.

But on a 2G, they claim Cyl 1 thru 4 are all 22k ohms

Question 1) Is the "5.8 ohms" on the 1G a typo? Shouldnt it be 5.8k ohms?

Question 2) Assuming all the wires are the same resistance on a 2G, does it even matter which length is used for each cylinder?

BTW, I found this info on vfaq, but it applies to 1G's and doesn't really answer either of my questions above.

Spark plug wire routing - if you removed your spark plug wires without paying attention to the routing, don't worry. On 4G63s, the spark plugs are numbered from the timing belt/driver's side - #1 is closest to the timing belt. The connections to the coilpack are 4123, with 4 being closest to the head. (http://www.vfaq.com/images/Spark_Plug_Wires.gi f)

Note that since 4G63s use a waste spark system that fires 1/4 and 2/3 together, you can also hook the wires to the coilpack as 1423 and 1432 and it will work fine. Note that wire #3 is longer than #4 - shortest to longest, they are 1243.

I'm pretty sure that the ONLY difference between 1 and 2G wires is the length...
