yes you can put one in.... you have to get the kit for replacement of the square lamps to the h4 kit... then buy a h4 hid kit.... i had the h4 kit in mine and was going to get the hids so i know but then i decided to buy the EVO..... email www.turbotrix.com if you want the kit he can get the h4 kit to remove the square lamp...then you will have to order the hid kit for that...
i know i was the first one on this board to do HID's for their 2gnt... did custom ones but they are sweet.. they are the real ones like the ones in BMW's... not aftermarket
i didnt see where it said h4 conversion kit on their website. is it something i have to directly contact them about. i sent them an email asking about it, but it is saturday
If you feel inclined to do so, and you have alot of time to have your tranny out of the car, I'm sure you could learn how to put it back together by taking it apart and studying it as you do it. While I'm not sure about doing so myself, I guess there is no harm in doing the work yourself if you think it is easy enough once you get inside the tranny.
I do most of my own work, (with Jeff's help of course ) but the tranny is something I'm not sure I'd try and do on my own. I'll have mine sent away for a rebuild when I have the money. That being said, try it out, and see if you can figure it out. Might be a cinch, who knows.
Also: I'm too lazy to go grab my chilton's. Does it have any internal stuff for the DSM trannies? if it does, that could be a good resource.
EDIT: i hope this is the right kit, jeff emailed me back and said that they couldnt get the kits anymore. i found a place that will sell them for 99 plus shipping, but if i can get it for 25 bucks
