#5006, "Why are 99 GSX's going for 5000 > blue book?"
I'm selling my Mazdaspeed6 to get another Eclipse, but all the 99's I see are asking about 5000 over what KBB and Edmunds states. Whats the deal? Are they really going for that, or do the owners think they should go for that.

I know the 99's have the white faced gauges and from what I read, all have LSD in the rears (not too sure if this is accurate). Are there any other differences between the 99's and 98's?

Not sure about the LSD's, haven't heard that before. But they do have white faced gauges, which certainly isn't bringing 5000 dollars extra. You have to keep in mind that the car is approaching 10 years old. So that means the number of lower milage clean cars is dwindling just b/c of that. The clean low-milage cars are then going to bring a higher valve. There is still a demand for them b/c they are easy to modify. And although there are other AWD turbo cars on the market now (EVO/STi) the ECU's are getting more complicated and are more difficult to tweak w/out expensive mods. So there you have it. I've got offers for my 99 GST for 12 grand b/c it's got 46xxx miles on it and barely a scratch. It's not for sale.

Yeah, I can understand the higher price for a low mileage unmolested GSX, but there are people asking 14,000 and up for modded 100k cars. I'm kinda thinking I may go for the 98, but I do like the white faced gauges I'm in no hurry, I guess I'll know when I see the right one. It would be nice to have a black 99' rs and a black 98'/99' GSX in the garage. Thanks for the info guys.

Well, after much searching, I finally found my new baby. It's a 99' K. Black with black leather interior GSX, one owner, and completely stock for a legit price. It's about time my lonely RS gets a big brother. Unfortunately, Christmas is so close; I guess I'll wait until next yeat to pop the seal on the car.
