I've been researching my problem with a 95-96 not having an intake cam gear. The reason is the cam angle sensor is different between the 95-96 and 97-99 years. Doing a sensor relocate sounds pretty simple, swap plugs 1 and 4 with 2 and 3. Also swap injector harnesses around.
There's just one question I have: How will the sensor mount to where it needs to be?
A 1g and 97-99 have the same mounting locations (exact placement). However it sounds like the 95-96 isn't located in the same area. Does a 95-96 have empty, threated holes for mounting?

Well, it's not threaded, rather it is just plugged up. At the end of the intake cam, there is a rubber plug. That's where the 1g cas is located. All I did was remove the plug and bolt in the CAS and you are good to go!
