Last night, "PJ" drove home in Daisy. I have 60% of the selling price in cash stashed in the house. He's got the title and written agreement that his deposit is fully refundable if the MVD tells him he can't get an Arizona title on the car if I sign the Kansas title over to him with lien release in hand or the car will not pass emissions after they replace the rollover valve on the gas tank (known for that damn CEL31). So someone I met on Craigslist is driving Daisy around and I won't know if we have a solid deal until this weekend. Ugh.
Then I check my bank account at lunch. $89.01 charge at a Quik Trip I go to regularly. That's funny, I wonder how I might manage to ring up almost $90 in fuel (bank reports this was run at the pump) when gas is less than $4/gallon and none of my cars hold more than 16 gallons of fuel. So my debit card has been canceled on possible fraud and an investigation has begun.
THEN, Chandler PD calls me and leaves a message that the police report I ordered is ready to be picked up. Um... The police report I ordered for the accident with the Galant NINE MONTHS AGO and ALREADY GOT.
I mean, seriously. What the hell is going on today?

I see your line of thinking, but he's got an unsigned, out of state title and no bill of sale. I've got his name, phone number, address, mom and mom's boyfriend's employer, email addresses and have confirmed contact with them both through the employer emails. Call me crazy. Had just a little faith in my fellow man last night for some reason.

Sucks to have faith in people sometimes. I sold my back-up car to some guy on Craigslist two months ago. It was a Geo Prizm in perfect driving condition with rust on the hood and doors. I was asking $900 but the guy said he was down on his luck and needed anything to get him to and from work and that he only had $550. Feeling sorry for the guy and thinking that his story was legit, I went ahead and sold it to him for $550. Two days later I happen to be on Craigslist and see an ad for the car for $1,100 with a BS story of how he had done all this maintenance work on the car.
