#9045, "loud clunking noise from right rear"

tokico illumina's + eibach pro's... i started to hear a loud clunking noise from my right rear whenever i hit a bump. none of the other do it, and it just started a few days ago. my father and i took it out, and nothing seems to be wrong. any ideas?

I had the same problem, also check your camber, and a piece of rubber hose will help.

Be sure the nut on top of the strut is nice and tight too. If its loose, it can cause this noise too..

ok, i don't think it's the nut... it's on there tight. can't be the camber cuz i had just gotten an alignment done correcting the camber. any other ideas, other than the first?

check my previous posts and replies about this annoying clunk.

my clunk happens when the end of the bottom spring hits the bottom metal perch that should hold the spring in place. if you hear it on the right now.. sooner or later you will get it on the left as well.

did you always hear it (right after dropping your car), or did it just start one day? mine just started one day; actually, i think it started after i had it aligned, which was about a month after i dropped it.

mine just started happening one day.. before i was even lowered. i think it had to do with some spirited driving i had been doing not long before where i would allow my back end to slide sideways.. here is my thought or theory on it.

damn.....detailed info....I love it...bwahahahaaa....

i have another theory, the rubber part is not present between the bolt and the arm...so it doesn't move sideways, it moves up and down.....

i had a clunking soundin the rear of the car too but it was only when i was idling and starting off. once i was moving, it stopped. turned out that the muffler pipe was tapping against a part of the car, when it goes over the rear end. when i redid my exhaust, we ran it differently and stopped the problem
