Hi! I an fairly new to the board but i am not new to the Eclipse camp. I've had my eclipse for 5 yesrs and i have been runnung NOS for a year and a half. I recently bent a valve and im having engine work done before i go turbo. I want to build my bottom end(Pistons and Rods). I need to know where i can get the Eagle rods. I see them advertised but when i contact these places they dont have them. Also What is the difference between the rods. Is one stronger than the other? Thanks in advance for any info that you guys and girls can provide.

These shops never have shit they advertise for the 420A Race Tech Engineering told me "Oh no we dont have crower cams for the 420A, because the engine is not that reliable yada yada yada" even though it clearly says in their advertisement Mitsu cams 4G63/420A. Had the same problem when I bought pistons: "can make anything" in their ads. Me " Hello I'd like some forged pistons for my 420A Chyrsler engine with Demensions yada yada yada. I can send one in too" Response "call over too so and so they deal with imports ect" or "Call when your eady to buy ect" You dicks i was ready to buy. What you must do is not except no for an answer. I called back every fucking one of them until someone decent and respects all costumers asnwered the damn phone. If they carry Eagle rods and you want them give them the part # CRS5472N3D and tell the fuckers to order you the part #. Dont take no for an answer. Contact eagle direct (and no there shouldn't be any significant difference in the strength of crower and eagle rods. The only real difference is the price.
I don't know where race engineering got the idea to advertise crower cams for the 420A. I called Brian Crower myself, and he said they would not make billet cams for the non turbo eclipse because "everybody that wants a fast eclipse either has a gs-t or a gs-x" and that he would not spend "1200 bucks on machine work to make 20 camshafts". so crower cams for 420A are inexistant, and nowhere near the future. I am still waiting on my crane cams which should be here friday

What an idiot. He'd make that back the first day they were released. I guess no one wants a fast eclipse since only 15% bought a fucking turbo model (which is why its not available now. By numbers alone 420A cams would be more popular than the 4G63 cams if only a small percentage wanted a "fast eclipse". Not to mention 4G63 already has HKS and Web cams available for yrs. (Gee I wonder whos buying all these fucking 420A rods, more people who want to be slow. makes you wonder about some companies and there research effort). I'm gonna start a damn hit list of companies so when they get a clue to which eclipse is the most popular it will be too late to jump on the bandwagon. Hell I already noticed a switch that most companies with new products cater to non turbo eclipses (likely due to that 15/85% ratio). I guess that 15% is starting to get tapped out. Funny the Prelude has been for yrs the honda flagship car yet has the fewest parts available. Could it have something to do with car sales (maybe honda catering companies are smarter after all).

Crower $700 Eagle $390. Materials: same 4130 Rod bolts: same ARP. hell what Armond just said and what race engineering said eliminates me from buying any crower products. Oh and why the hell do they offer B18 cams. If they wanted a fast integra they'd have gotten the GSR or Type R right. They really got me pissed tonight.

About were to get eagle rods read the first two post again (thats how the thread started). No one knows. Pick up Turbo mag. There's a few shops that advertise Eagle rods one mentioned already. As for cams, no one has cranes yet as far as I know cause they aren't out. An agressive NA cam wont work well on a turbo car, it needs to be turbo specific. Big NA cams on turbo cars enable their ability to reach boost. Cams would be the last thing I'd worry about if I were turboing until I've reached 400+hp.

Well i called eagleand theguy there that they never made or had plans to make rods for the 420A motor. I dont know but this guy was kind of rude, didnt take the time to check. I sent thea couple of emails and i havent heard anything yet. Ill keep everybody informed.

I've had crower regrinds in my car since 1995. They pull hard at bottom and mid levels.. added plenty of torque. Eagle rods.. they aren't gonna be out til late this month. I spoke to them directly. Was gonna ditch the crower rods for them..
