Well, I know that some people on here are making some good numbers on the 2.0 but there isn't a whole lot of info on this like there is on neons.org so I just wanted to post this so people would see it and have an option to purchase this stuff. Now I know that some people will say well I've been running the stock oil pump and I've never had any issues with it and what not and you may be and thats great, and I'm also not saying that this will happen and its a bad design blah blah blah but like I said, I didn't know this was available and I probably would have gotten it but oh well. My first run in with Melling oil pumps was my fault. I was sold a bad turbo(had it "cleaned" and apparently some trash got in my oil and into the oil pump), it was my fault and not a faulty oil pump(this was the regular oil pump). The second time was on the dyno with the Melling High Volume oil pump. I don't know why it failed, but it did and when it did it cracked the oil pump gear in 4 spots...
So after this I started looking around on the neon forums because there are not too many people with 420a eclipses that have had oil pump issues and cam across some interested threads that involve a weak oil pump gear and underdrive pulleys. I won't go into too much detail because you can read and should read these statements and make your own choice on what to use/do. But I do know now that DCR makes and upgraded oil pump gear that is suspossed to be stronger and wont break like the mellings. Now the links....

Interesting final notes about the materials. I'm still completely comfortable with my Melling and UDP. Maybe if I was building a 700 hp dedicated drag car, I would be more concerned.
