Well after blowing up my second transmission in all of 200 miles last weekend, I finally got to assess the damage last night

I have a buddy driving over is ~2000 Neon tomorrow with a brand new engine and transmission that he's parting out since he now owns the turbo pt cruiser. I'm hoping since they replaced everything, it has the newer 3.55 hydraulic clutch setup. As of right now, I need a new tranny, clutch, flywheel, bolts, etc ... so a direct bolt-on replacement would be awesome, especially considering shipping all that to me in Alaska is EXPENSIVE.

Have fun with these.....
EDIT: For some reason they wont show. if i place a space between p and g the link will show but the picture itself wont show in the post if i remove the space. Sorry X, i tried to fix it.

I put that space there so the link would show up. i dont see a link in your post or a picture where did it go? Maybe a mod placed the space there for a reason so you could at least view the link.

They're all directly off my server, so the links should work fine when put together completely. Maybe the spaces were added because I posted 41 pics lol. All the pictures in the world just couldn't do all that carnage justice.

So I am correct in assuming the neon tranny bolts right up if indeed it is a hydraulic setup Otherwise, I will have to go per Terry's write-up and find a bellhousing to use since both of my blown ones are either phucked on the inside or holes blown right through the casing.

I'm really loving my life right now

Since we can use the neon transmissions, does it make sense that I can also snag the clutch, flywheel, and bolts for both as well

If the transmission in my buddies neon is indeed hydraulic, I will be taking it off of his hands this afternoon, but I would still need the other parts as well...the only thing I have laying around is my old stock clutch that won't last very long when I turn the boost up.

yea its a cable clutch unless you snag one form i think a 2001+ neon, the swap is easy as hell, i droped the trans swaped everything and had the car driving down the street in a little less than 4 hours, welcome to the suck imo, for a average joe it will probly take around 6 hours or more to do it, but since i usually drop my trans a couple times a month it seems iv become a master at it....lmfao

Yeah I got my trans out and on the floor in under 2hrs easy, and we were drinkin and having some hot wings hehe. Not to mention stopping every 5 minutes to snap pics of all the destruction.

So you just went by Terry's write-up and it was cake huh. Yeah, his neon is a 2000 with brand new motor and tranny. I was just hoping since they just replaced it, that they might have upgraded to the new hydraulic setup.

So...am I correct in dreaming that I can also snag his flywheel, clutch, and necessary bolts for each?

I bet that made one hell of a sound when it went...I wish I would have gone with a 3.94 trans, but I got a deal on a new T350 for $450..
