im wondering if anybody knows if the stock clutch in a 97
avenger is modular or non modular... and secondly, if anyone
has had problems with spec stage 2 clutches... im looking at
getting one for my ride, but i dunno if they have the same
problems that the stage 3 has had

I'm pretty sure its modular I got a 95 eclipse and it was
modular. I just put in a spec 3 and no workie. I'd stay away
from spec period from what I hear. I actually like the stock
clutch a lot I just wanted somethign with a little more grab
when i started boosting more.

like to say im not sure what the clutch is...i kinda hope its
non modular...just because thats what i have experience with
as far as replacing... but would a stock clutch hold up to
12-14 psi daily? thats why i was thinking of going with the
stage 2 spec... but ive heard of problems with these clutches
so i figured id ask.. any other brand reccomendations?

The prices have increased due to pressure from our distributors to be more in line with the market, and price increase form our suppliers. We do not use stock modified parts, we use race engineered parts on all stages of clutch kits which is what separates us from the competition.

The modular ones are way easier to replace, removing the
transmission is extremely easy. It just lifts up verticaly
once you get those 4 bolts out disconnecting the starter plate
from the modular clutch assembly. The advantage to a
non-modular setup is a little less rotating mass because the
starter teeth are on the flywheel instead of dealing with a
seperate starter plate. Although, removing/installing the
transmission around a non-modular clutch really blows, I have
done it too many times and I never look forward to doing it
unless the engine/transmission are already out of the car.
