Or....the angel of death. Going that fast is dangerous and proves nothing. However, going that fast from a stop down a 1/4 mile stretch....thats a different story.

Ok, so you are saying your 3rd gear runs from around 70 all the way up to 135? I'm calling BS. Not saying u didn't hit 135, but u didn't do it in 3rd gear. Whether u shift up or not, at WOT, the tranny will shift anyway. Leave it in L and floor it. It won't stay there. Same goes for 3rd. It goes on into O/D. O/D doesn't really screw us. It's just high gear. It's the converter lockup that really kills it. Drops the RPM's too low to catch the powerband to save fuel economy and ur speed dreams are dead. U can eliminate the lockup tho. I said all this in another post tho somewhere.

besides that, the auto tranny is more like a 5 speed. it has 1st that goes around 37, 2nd to about 70, 3rd to around 110, and then 4th which will take you to god knows what if you have alot of power. but think about this. going about 70, you're in 3rd gear...the rpm's will drop about 400 rpm's from the tq kicking in. so that's kinda like the car upshifting, then you have the O/D, and with that, it lowers the rpm's a little more. but yeah, no way you did 135 in 3rd. later

nope not bullshit ..at full throttle .. 125 is 5900 130 came around 6150 and the needle was around 135 ... it screamed up until almost fuel cut ..mind u i have almost nothing inside my car.. no rugs no sound deading on my side. no trunk, no back seat( top and bottom ) . no seat belts in rear.. no trunk. and at the time no passenger seat. also the gearing is so much taller than a manuals . but i thinks thats all u can squeeze out .. ill take remy out and he can atest to this or i will take a snap. and another thing ... when i hit the o/d she dropped to like 5500 and slowed.. so she wasnt in o/d.
