Well.... I went to the track for the 2nd time ever. This is the 1st time with my turbo kit. I raced 15 times. I was running 15.0x - 15.3x I didnt list the reaction times becuase it has nothing to do with my times. But the thing that gets me is..... I have a HRC Stage 2 turbo kit. I should be in the low 14's. Why am I running a half to full second slower than I should be? I do have the stock exhaust (with aftermarket muffler), but I dont think an exhaust is going to give me the half to full second that Im wanting/soppossed to be at.

Here is my best ET....
60ft- 2.367
330 ft- 6.429
1/8 et- 9.77
1/8 mph- 73.42
1000 et- 12.577
1/4 et- 15.003
1/4 mph- 94.15

Here is my best MPH...
60ft- 2.373
330 ft- 6.501
1/8 et- 9.828
1/8 mph- 73.76
1000 et- 12.610
1/4 et- 15.013
1/4 mph- 95.12

So what do you think? Whats wrong here? Do you think a 2.5 or 3in exhaust will get me low 14's? Help!

i dont think a full catback would give u that sec, but it sure would help. ur pussing alot of exhaust on very restrictive piping. thats a nono for turbo. turbo wants free flow, not backpressure.

doesn't sound like you are too off to me.. those low 14 sec stage 2's have alot more supporting stuff with them then comes with the stage2 kit. you shoulda be happy man.. you went from 16.6ish to 15flat with just a mild turbo kit.. that's a big jump from just 'one' mod.

15 flat for a stage 2 kit? Damn it. Actually.... I went from a 17.2 to a 15.0, so thats not too bad. But I was just expecting more I guess

if u dont have money for exhaust right now just drop it. Bring the tools and some friends and take off ur exhaust form the end of ur downpipe back. That should help out.

man, thats actually pretty darn good. Hell, when i ran for the first time at the track, i got a 15.4 1/4, running about 6-7 psi. I had maddd wheel hop, and crappy 60ft, but still, i was disapointed. Getting that 60 ft time down, REALLY improves your overall ending 1/4 mile time. I'd say you did pretty good. Racing at the track is def harder than it looks or seems, esp if you are driving a manual trans, FWD car with a turbo

Your numbers are right on with my car. My best time at 7 psi was 15.006 at 95.14 with a 2.492 60 ft time. I hope to better that time soon with the new tires, ES motor mount inserts and another pound of boost.

Lonnie - Is it just me or were you kinda pissed that you ran a 15.0 knowing that hahn's site says at this stage we should be in the 13's? WTF?! Oh.... I see that you have a apexi n1 exhaust. Is that for the gs-t? What size is it 2.5"? 3"?

I got the 2.5. Wish I had the GST model. I got it before I knew the GST would fit. Yea I was a little pissed at a 15 second time after all the shit I talked to my friends. I just got done setting it up for 8.5 psi today and got some new rubber and motor mounts inserts to help better that 60 ft time. Next are injectors. I think with some more pratice at the track you can better that time. I'm sure HRC's times weren't great there first time out. Just keep trying and tuning. Good Luck!

hey game ... if you would line up against your old self ( your car in its stock n/a trim .. you would have beaten it by 7 - 8 cars .. i say damn impressive times considering the latter 17.1 ..~~!!~~ get the exaust ... apexi n1 thats a good turbo exaust .. it comes in the 2.5" n/a trim or the 3" turbo exaust
