take some gas and a match :x

nah.. uh i've never done a 'burnout' because tires are expensive..but i believe you rev your engine up really high and have the e-brake up and left off the clutch slowly?? i'm probably wrong..but heh i've never tried/done it.

if ur talking about at the track warming up the tires i roll through the water and then pull up the ebrake and drop it at like 5 and spin them just a little. There is no need in doing a burnout show if u just trying to warm up the tires.

If ur talking about doing burnouts i would pull up the ebrake as hard as u can drop the bitch at 6 and see how many gears u can go through and hope u dont blow ur diff.

typically, you don't have to bother warmig up the tires. If it is cold outside I'll just gun it before I line up and spin the tires FOR NO MORE THAN A SECOND, usually less like half a second, and I will NOT go into the water box. That is sufficient to clean the tires off and get them just a LITTLE warmed up when needed.

You shouldn't burn out street tires. It just makes the traction on them worse. Even some "cheater slicks" (the DOT approved street slicks) shouldn't be burned out. For example, the Hoosier cheater slicks should be bunred out the first two uses or so to remove the glaze on them from manufacturing, after that you shouldn't burn them out.

At Atco Raceway where I go there is no way around the water boxes so I am forced to do some kind of burnout to get the water off them. But other than that a loght spin to remove debris if fine for street tires.

ok...radials do not warm up when doing a burnout...that is for slicks only. Also, if you are just talking about doing a burnout...uhh, dood it isnt that hard, rev up to 3500 or 4000 and drop the clutch and mash the gas, if you are automatic, little harder but hold your left foot on the brakes realllllly hard and rev your engine up to like 4 or 5 and then just drop the brakes and mash the gas...

My car will not ebrake slide for shit, it seems like my ebrake locks up all 4 wheels?

But if that's the case, then why would you pull the ebrake to do a burnout?

All I've ever done is just revved it and then pull my foot off the clutch, is that bad for the car or something, because only 1 other person mentioned it.

as for burnouts and street tires for racing:

I've tried many diff ways at the track for launching on street tires. This method turned the best results, with best traction:

Roll throgh the waterbox, then pull up on E-brake, and then rev up motor, slip out clutch until you start spinning tires. As soon as the tires start to spin, i let off the E-brake, and ride out the tire spin for about 2 seconds. This produces no big tire smoke, cleans off the tires nicely, puts a little bit of heat into the tires, and gives a nice, clean , fresh layer of rubber to grip the track with. Street tires, or ANY tire for that matter NEEDS to be at least cleaned off and heated up slightly. Even a small layer of dirt and debris from rolling through the staging lanes is enough to not grip as well off the line. In no way, do you want to smoke up street tires at the dragstrip though..If its a cool day, you need to heat them up for another second or two..if its really hot, then less needed..The most important thing to remember, is that you NEED a nice clean layer of tire rubber, to really grip the track good. This just comes from experience on my part anyway..
