Ok, so I got a new deck deh-p7600mp, (pioneer) and it has a wire to hook up labeled "mute", I had no clue what this does, from reading the manual I understand that when you hook it up to something, and your phone rings it will mute your stereo while on the call, and when you hang up the stereo will unmute...I think this is amazing, but I cant ffind anymore information on the subject, does anyone know what is needed to hook this up? Thanks.

Having Problems? Heres my Three step solution to anything 2gnt related. Step 1: Put down everything in your hands. Step 2: Grab a lucky strike, Smoke it. Step 3: Walk to the fridge, double fist some keystone ice, sit down in the shade, drink one beer, finish cigarette, drink other beer, roll a joint, smoke it, walk back to your problem, and in about 5 minutes the solution will come to you. If not. Go here: here
If still nothing, your trying to hard. Start over at step 1.

also check for compatibility with your service provider/phone type. i believe certain phones do not give off the right type of signal to trigger the unit. same thing with the little fashy air freshener thingies that light up when you have a call. i have sprint so it doesn't work with mine. it lights up when other peoples phones are in the car though.

i have a p.o.s 5.1 speaker system on my computer, and like 3 seconds before my phone rings/vibrates they make really weird whining noises...then the phone rings. its like the cellphone waves are invading the room. its tight. not while watching porn though. they sound like robots

My Pioneer unit has the same feature. It will either mute the audio or attenuate it (your choice) when the wire is grounded. I got tricky and hid a small tactile push button switch just under the shift boot of the stick shift. It's completely hidden from view. Anytime I want to quiet things down for a second, like to listen to the revs or even to place an order at a drive through, I just lay my finger on the switch and its quiet until I let off again.
