#5750, "Best position for subs??"

Alright guys, I have been a coming here for a while, but this is my first post, so go easy on me. My system got stolen a few weeks back, so I will be getting a new one with the insurance money I had 2 JL W0s in a pre-made sealed box before and it was pretty loud. I had the speakers facing back. But the custom boxes with the speakers facing the glass just look so much better. So my question is, which would A) be louder and B) sound cleaner: facing my subs back or at the glass. I am going all Alpine with the new setup btw--2 Type R's and 2 M500's handling the low end.

Thanks Guys!

my suggestion would be to try it both ways and see what sounds better to you. both positionings are ideal, so you might not notice a difference. the high-intensity pressure wave might cause the back hatch to rattle more if they are facing upwards though.

on a side note, you mentioned that all your stuff got stolen, and you are wanting to mount the subs so they look good to people outside the car? havent you learned your lesson (im j/k)

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

The only reason I'm asking is cause I don't have a box to use to test them, and i really don't want to have to build just a regular square box before i actually build the real one. I'll see if i can't borrow one from somebody. Oh, and btw I am using fatmat on the entire hatch area, so the rattles shouldn't be as bad
