#12764, "Installing OEM keyless entry??"

Is it possible? I have a 97 Eclipse GS, the lock cylinder on the drivers side is starting to give me problems so I figured I'd just put keyless entry on the car. Would it be a plug-n-play deal--are the harnesses already run if the car didnt have the option from factory? I have access to a keyless entry unit out of a junkyard and I could pick up some remotes off ebay, you can usually program them yourself if you know the procedure (You never know with Mitsu tho). I have done several shaved handle installs/etc but just dont feel like messing around with an AutoLoc kit if I can just use a factory one...
Thanks

If you have power locks, all you have to install is an actuator. I had my RS converted to full power for $250. I think it's been one of the best mods so far.

not to hijack ur thread here.... but can u post a link to an ebay auction for the remotes? I've been trying to find a remote to replace my lost one forever now and I can't seem to find one. I think the dealer wanted something like 80 bucks.

YES its possible I have an 1997 GS with Keyless entry.

NOt sure because mine came with this as an OPtion. My Driverside is F'd up too. I also have power locks so this helps too, until I get a replacement

Do a comaparison between your 97 GS and the one at the junkyard. If you could buy the whole keyless system Harness etc. from the salvage yaerd and just replace the parts you need for it.
