#877, "**WARNING** ABout Pioneer $5000 credit card"

This is a random post, but I was almost scammed today.

Pioneer runs national ads for a credit car where EVERYONE is approved for $5000, you have to pay $180 to get it though.

Right before I got it they qickly shot by the fine print and it said "Only valid for purchases Pioneer approves of" I was like what the hell?

Turns out, you can only buy stuff, with your 5000 credit, from THEIR OWN CATALOGUE. Thats bullshit. They try to scam you to pay $189 to get thecard and the 5000 limit but then you see you can only shit from THEIR catalogue, and you lose youre 189.

Just a warning.

On another note, does anyone know of any legit cards with high spending limits where youpay a little to get it?

Thanks.

I got banned for being a constant tard.

sounds like you need to build up your credit.. just get 1 or two small cards that have small payments and no annual fee.. Best Buy has a decent one, but on the other hand you need to find an all around one..

I got like $8000 in credit and i'm only 19, i had like $5k midway through 18. Trust me, you don't want all that credit, money flies, seeing all that interest add up is quite saddening, i haven't bought anything major in the last couple months trying to clear all my cards, closed a few of them also to see if i can get better rates elsewhere.

Somehow without having any credit established previously, I managed to pull off getting a credit card with a $2,500.00 limit and a 13.9% APR (not introductory) when I was 18. I'm 19 now and out of a job, so now I am using $700.00 out of my last paycheck to payoff my card. Better off this way then dragging it out and waiting till I geta new job.

Easiest way to get good credit cards is to apply for some, start with a low limit, and use just a little bit each month, but PAY ON TIME. I got a credit card at school with no job with a $1000 limit. I used it occasionally, and after about 6 months, they offered me a gold card with a $2500 limit. Then after a while they automatically doubled the limit. Just pay it in time and the company will be loyal to you. Start off small, but you will gain credit. Just always pay on time, so only spend what you have...

you will actually get a better credit rating if you maintain a balance. remember, credit is a business. you get "rewarded" for bringing them business. someone who always pays on time, but keeps balance will actually have a better rating than the guy who pays the credit card off completely every month. the downside is that maintaining a balance means paying the interest charge every month (thats where they make $).

this is from several people I know who work for CC companies.

I actually just got a platinum card w/ no intro or anual fee and a 9.9% rate because i opened the account by doing a balance transfer of about $2200. they see im going to do business with them, so they gave me a higher limit and a good rate.

Credit is a business just like any other. they want to make money, and good companies will reward you for bringing them business.

Regardless if you pay off everything or maintain a balance, always pay on time! one late payment and it sticks to ur record for a long time. not to mention the financial penalties and increase in rates.
