i wanna take my car to race but even the stock appearing class is running 11.1@127. makes it kinda hard when i only got a 14b. it says stock appearing turbo but you know those guys arent running 14b's and t25's. just something big with a flat manifold. ugh. suck.
i dont wanna run bracket either. no thanks.
however i will be there drinking it up. :-)

They are doing that with the 14b. SBR's current goal is to break into the 10s on a 14b. They are getting close.

someone has already run 10's on a 14b. Joe Bucci ran 10.6@131. Second place is 11.4@118. i think both of those guys at the shootout were faster than that, at least 1st place did.
just doesnt seem right.

Maybe SBR is trying to break into the 9s on the 14b then. It's been a while since I read the 14B thread on Tuners.

That would be my buddy Fonz. He's running a big 16 on E 85. He's gotten it down to 11.06. Trying to break into the 10's (the guy he beat in the semi's was running 10.9's. Fastest of the group)

They are not. That kid talks a big game and has spent some cash, but the best he has run is a 12.5. A far, far cry from 10's. He barely goes to the track yet considers himself on a "quest" for the record (even before he ran anything he was in a "continuing quest").
I just don't like posers. Talk when you've done something. Its all bullshit when you haven't.

Yup Joey did his run on the funny gas with a coke can. Not taking anything away from him, just pointing out that he was juicing at the time. So not purely on the 14b. BUT his record for no juice is 10.84
And the 11.4 that you are talking about is my buddy Phil Beers. He has done all that without cracking the engine open. Not even cams. The 14b on there is also the original 14b! (But I believe there is someone between him and Joey....).
Meh, not dropping names. just pointing out/clarifying some stuff.

Unless theres another unforseen obstacle, I WILL be racing next year. Running consistent 14s, if not, faster.

lol, I was there pretty late. It was after 11 because I got back from talking to Fotown and Bullett at like 1 or so. I got to the American and saw Terrys car, parked next to it, walked the parking lot and waited for a while. Didnt see anyone who wasnt looking at me weird because my car wasnt a 4g, lol. Saw a bunch of Hondas and some 4g guys but no 2gnts.

14s? Prove it! As you said barring the unforeseen I should be there. I look forward to this event more than anything else. Not sure if i will be racing, lot will depend if I can scrape together money for upgrades or not. Regardless I plan on a sweet hotel, with much alcohol.

I'm going again this year, but I'm going to make the drive from WA. Mr Driggs better be there as well! Try to get Don(wite96gs) go as well now that he's living back in Ohio. My gvr4 should be back on the road again by then but I'm not sure which vehicle I'm taking there.
Oh and about the 14b stuff, you have Nate Crisman @11.48, he used n2o and a 7cm exhaust housing, but he's got his old yellow 1g again and is getting back into attacking the 14b record again.

all good information. exactly what im talking about though. not to say that they shouldnt allow 16g's, but i figured he was at least running a small 16g cause it mostly looks like a 14b to the untrained eye. the fact that he is running a B16g means i have to drive that much better and push boost/timing to the limit on race fuel to keep up. the 11.4 on a 14b is very respectable. a good bit of driving there imo.
im all BS right now since my car hasnt run in 5 years. working on some numbers though. it's a process. ;-)

Wow, you guys getting a earley start hasn't six month's yet.
I bet the 14b was ported to a 7cm, learned this from tuners.

And Dale, yes he does have a 7cm housing on there. Didn't mean to mislead or anything. My point being that the turbo itself is from when the car was originally bought.

next year they are going to have the saturday meet and greet/car show at the track instead of the shop. they are also running the autocross on saturday. there wont be a dyno competition unless dave can find someone with a portable awd dyno they can bring. they are also charging $5 to get in on saturday.
this is a horrible fail imo and i wont be going to the track on saturday.

yep. he is black balling the local food vendors, gas stations, and anyone else that makes any amount of money from a dsm'r that drives through. instead, we get to pay the track for food, pay the track for cleanup, pay a shop to bring a dyno, and pay to get in and see what the fuss is about. i dont see where his monetary motivation is. sure he isnt raking in cash from people using the dyno and he has to clean up his lot after people leave, but sheesh, at least he is trying to support the local economy. now that all goes to the track, including many of the profits he would make off parts and other sales at his booth that day. epic lames.

Yea. I like walking though Wakeman. It's a peaceful town and we invade it. Much more scenic than hanging out at the track all weekend.

I kinda want to post on the forums thread on Buschur Racing and talk about how I feel it will be lame if they host everything at the track.

There will be NO camping allowed on the Budweiser/pit side of the track this year. Sorry, but the theft from this year has made it impossible for it to be allowed.
Whats the deal here? Something got stolen? I honestly dont know if I want to go next year anymore though. Ill have to think it over for a while.

Yeah, last year someone stole some of the banner signage from the track on Sunday. Came out to about a $700 loss.

Per Buschur's update on the Facebook Calendar, the SO has been moved to Wakeman.
|
34, RE: 19th ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT Posted by Fotowntalon, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
So does 2GNT have an "official hotel yet(lol official with the use of '"') Anyways, its pathetic, its January and already a good 50% of my dreams are of the SO. Also I want to book a hotel room in advance this year, as opposed to last year when I was paying over $100 for a motel 8 room because I waited till the day before. But yeah, I would love to party with you guys, also should be bringing a decent amount of friends and promised them a bad ass drunkenfest time.

36, RE: 19th ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT Posted by CODE4, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
Now that I am no longer on active duty, I have no excuses for not attending this year. From my location however, I am looking at over a 19 hour drive assuming I take no detours to scoop up other 2GNTers on my way to Norwalk. I definitely want to take my car but that is a significant time block before & after the SO dedicated to commuting. I may resort to flying in and out instead.
When the school calendar update is released, I can see what my schedule is during that time period and if I can afford to cut Friday & Monday.
|
37, RE: 19th ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT Posted by freelancefool, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
You will have a shorter drive than me.
|
38, RE: 19th ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT Posted by Diceman19, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
i will need a room mate again this year. i just cant afford to rock the $180 a night by myself.
must not be super hairy or like to rub balls on people. im also not up for spooning.
any takers? obviously, anyone who applies will have their application reviewed and a decision made based on my mental state at the time of my choosing.

I think Dustin and Rose called and reserved a room over the phone for something close to that last year. They paid on arrival. You might want to see if you can do something like that.

Why don't you guys camp out with the big wigs? I was with Dave last year and paid a total of 45 dollars for the 2 night stay. Whadda you know about 86" screen video games in the woods!!! I have a massive tent that holds 5 comfortably with a full size conversion van. Hotel rooms are way too expensive for the amount of time actually spent in it...Besides, you all missed out on the lemonade and jungle juice 54-cup mitsu-pong!
Let it be ordained that the mitsu-pong shall become commonplace and the only alcoholic liquid suitable to touch the blessed DSM pallete is the Juice of the Jungle and Lemonade a la Spiked! So it is written so shall it be done!

43, RE: 19th ANNUAL DSM/EVO SHOOTOUT Posted by freelancefool, Dec-31-69 06:00 PM
I like my hotel and the tradition of everyone bringing craft beers to the Shootout. It is pretty amazing to show up to 20 different types of beers.
Also, splitting a room with a couple people is not uncommon.

I hate camping! Can't stand it, but the lemonade was amazing. I may try and get one of those rooms attached to the campground, the mitsu-pong sounds sweet

Actually I didn't miss out on that jungle juice, I was there playing a few rounds of jungle juice flip cup. To me that Jungle juice had some icetea flavoring in it or so it seemed.

i am NOT getting a room this year. decided to go hobo style and just crash on someones floor, or the hallway if i can't make it to a room in time to sleep.
this will be a year of awesome imo. hobo crashing and snatching showers from random rooms is gonna be an adventure.

It's always ridiculously expensive to stay in Norwalk Shootout weekend.
Fri/Sat/Sun in a smoking room w/ 2 double beds - hotels.com charged $133/night + tax - girl at the front desk quoted $130 Fri, $170 Sat, $80 Sun + tax
With a reservation and confirmation number direct from the AAI, I canceled the reservation through hotels.com and should see my funds returned within 14 days. :rolleyes
See you bitches in Norwalk.

After about 100 miles of mixed street and freeway driving, I discovered the driver inner boot had a pinhole leak that was greasing my new trans, and the outer passenger clamp was not as tight as it could be and slinging grease around my rim.
Sigh...
Thankfully, I found a Dorman uni-fit silicone boot kit (grease, clamps) that worked on the inner boot. I picked up extra clamps and was able get both axles finished this afternoon. Short testdrive in the rain (read: wheelspin) yielded no further slung grease.
I did order two inner boots from DSS that should arrive Wednesday (ordered them prior to finding the Dorman one) so I will have spares if needed.
Tired of r&r'ing the front suspension. Let's get this S.O. going!
