Yup, been a lot of conversation in my circles about that (Tony, you know about some of it). Fucking petty boys. I would have loved to go to both events (as would many others), but "somebody" doesn't like "somebody else". Just a negative for a progressively smaller community. Could have been a big positive. Many guys I want to see are going to the NJ version. Would love to just drive 3 1/2 hours down to see everybody and do a little hang out/ racing. But I'm planning on Norwalk.

Yeah, I thought it was cool for Dave to explain the whole situation and take blame for what he did and not point fingers at others. There was just alot of shit going on and things got out of hand. At least he stepped up to smooth out the tension on his own. I have a new respect for Dave that I never had before. I mean I never thought he was an asshole or anything, but after reading his novel (lol) it just made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside. :P

im a little pissed that in the end, they are hurting the average consumer, the guy who is coming to hang out with like minded individuals and to watch some racing. now that there are two events on the same day, all the high profile guys will go to Etown and everyone else will go to norwalk. likewise, anyone near NJ will likely go there and miss everything that goes on in norwalk.

personally, im not going to drive 11 hours to see an event. it is insane that there are 8-10 people local to me that are talking about racing out there. that includes towing a trailer with a full size truck for 11 hours, not including food, fuel, or lodging. most of them dont even plan on placing in the money but are still more than willing to pay the $500 without even thinking plus the trip to go out.

i just read david's thread, i basically regurgitated what he said about splitting the community. he also offered high stakes races. i hope he does, even as soon as this year, just to spite the people that are going to NJ for the big payouts.

I don't know if he posted the same thing he did on NEDSM, but after reading it, I will look at Dave much differently now. I guess his followers had more of an influence on my feelings toward "him" than I thought.
Yeah, there will be some fast cars in NJ, but the people who go to the Shootout, go for what the Shootout was originally meant to be. It's not a race, it's an event. It's about the community, and a gathering of friends... Not prize money.
The last Shootout I went to wasn't for the racing, hell, I didn't even race my car. In fact, I let a friend take some runs with it for me. ;) I went because I wanted to be part of the biggest enthusiast meet in the country. And I guess to see you fuckers too. lol

yea, it isnt even about the racing anymore for us i think. we all meet up, hang out, the racing is the side item. i understand that for some people it is a big deal to have the racing and i am on both sides of the fence. i love the racing and will ditch all you hungover mofos to go see it. ;-)

either way, it is just gonna hurt us in the long run and hopefully they all come to terms and sort it out for next year.

With all the angry drunks and sycophants in Jersey (home sweet home?) that weekend, what you guys wanna bet we see a marked reduction in drama, police interaction, and evil shenanigans?

that depends. the problem is that the Etown event is going to attract a lot of the faster/racer crowd. i'll bet their attendance is crap though.

Forced Performance has put up the FP18g for the DSM in DSE.
Exedy has put up a clutch for B1 and B2.
Exedy has also put up $1,000 to be used in the other classes.

This combined with our standard payouts put the race at well over $10,000 for this year.

Just a reminder that 420A powered cars can run in B1&B2. ;)
