9999, Turbo kit for sale (for real this time) Posted by Stan2gnt, Nov-23-01 01:08 AM
Price is fair and firm and based on my needs (which means non negotable). No seperation of parts. All or none. here it is:
1) Complete Star turbo kit (E-trim)/starion intercooler/piping with TurboXS BOV 2) Stage 1 piping/HKS STD BOV (got to get rid of it someway) 3) Oil pan with drain pipe 4) Autometer boost and EGT gauge in bezel pod 5) Joe P manual boost controller 6) All instructions 7) no fuel pump (buy your own $100 Vortec inline T-rex or $120 Walbro is all you need). 8) 96up will need to buy a Split Second VCI ($75) or check valves for the MAP.
Cost $1850 plus shipping
Also for sale (all in great condition) + shipping (rarely more than $10 on little shit):
Apexi Super AFC $225
JL Audio stealth box with Rockford sub $350 (paid about $570 new)
Panasonic DFX-150U CD reciever all blue blinky light display, removable face, 2 preamp and sub outputs, remote. In my opinion the best looking CD reciever ever made. $175
For you locals (Hampton, VA) who dont mind getting your hands dirty:
feel free to swap out my KYB AGX/Suspenion techniques spring suspension for your stock struts/springs for $200. Just keep in mind you will have to do the work yourself (I may be persueded to do do the rears since they are so easy). Same goes for AFX pulley, AFX TB, exhuast ect. make offer. You want it come and get it as long as I dont have to do it and you put stock parts back on my car (except pulley in which case you will need to put my stock one back on since I still have it).
NONE of the above is worth my time which is why I refuse to do any laboring but since the car will PROBABLY be sold with whatever it has on it no point in good aftermarket parts going to waste.
Everything 1rst come (with money) 1rst served
Wanted: cheap header (cheaper than $137 otherwise I'll buy a pacesetter to complete my normal aspiration conversion)
Now the question: 1) Sell turbo kit, trade in car and get $25,000 WRX (despite being butt ugly) 2) Sell turbo kit and get $20,000 GTI 1.8T then sell talon privately and immediately put on 19" rims/bilstein coilovers/chip/exhaust,intake pipe ect with the cash 3) sell turbo kit, get $20,000 GTI and keep talon stripped of almost everything aftermarket except 17" wheels (not the ones on it now but the old 17s)

Hey Stan, I'll take that Super AFC off your hands. I've got the cash right now. I've got a Brospeed header I want to get rid of if you want to work something out with that. Give me an email, thanks......

Why are you getting rid of your car this time?
I would wait for the Mitsubishi EVO to come next year. Thats what I'm doing. But its up to you.

>Why are you getting rid of your car this time?
Cause it beaks like a 11sec drag car and I'm spending more money monthly fixing it then I would be making a car payment. That and I just want something different. I'm not getting rid of it yet though, I'm just taking everything off of it for the time being.

all you would need is a pump and I'd assume shipping to be around $50 which is what about what I paid from CA to VA. I cant garauntee any reserve though if someone comes along.

There pretty quick I've raced em too. They only lack in the top end by comparison. There stock turbo makes the T25 look big so needless to say they aren't made to be top end killers. The GTI is a Lexxus in comparison to my car as far as comfort and I'm going for a more balanced look/power approach this time. This time around 19" rims and slammed suspension will come before pistons and exhaust.

why does the car keep breaking down? its not because of the turbo is it? dang this sucks!! another 2gnter that might get rid of his car. :( .. and that makes it two veterans of the board. starting to get worried about getting a kit for my car.. i would take the kit off your hands, but im a little short on funds and i dont start working till dec. 8th. if its still up for sale when i get a little more cash, ill takes it. hope you dont leave the board tho.. youve been a great source of info to many people on this board. hope all goes well.

My car breaks more than most everybody elses because I dont know many of you with over 160K miles and 100K miles of those (and 5yrs) with constant nitrous or turbo use. I've had my car for 7yrs (early 95 til now almost 2002). Its not the powertrain stopping me from keeping it, its the shit like timing belt, bushings, hub bearings, tie rod ends ect that are well past there life span and/or need replacement. I could keep it along with whatever I buy but why? If I sell it for a piddling $4000 thats $3000 in mods on the new car and $1000 for responsible shit.
I'll still be around like these other 2gnt junkies who've bought something else and wont leave, plus I'll still moderate until I get kicked out. And for the time being I still have the car. If I luck up and get a good tax return like last yr (it was good enough to buy me a turbo)I may keep it as a back up.

Get the WRX man, I know the GTI isn't a bad car just cheked it out at the international car show here and it's pretty nice. Looks pretty nice too. the turbo HELLA small haha, but you can hear it spool hehe spool louder than ours. The interior crys out cheap and bare in it though.
The WRX feels like a race car, good clutch feel, nice steering wheel, good seats, CHEAP ass boostgauge, and it's AWD! The impreza would corner better than a GTI I belibe but the GTI isn't far off. We have a 89 Gold GT and it can zip around corners pretty good a newer one will carve the corners up well. If you can wait hehe get the LanEVO. Not sure if it's coming though... :( Wait 1 year and you'll know for sure.

For some reason I dont like the newer body style of the WRX...In my opinion they should have kept the old body (99-00) and just put a turbo on it. I think the body style was the only thing that kept me from not getting one

>Cause it beaks like a 11sec drag car and I'm spending more >money monthly fixing it then I would be making a car >payment.
Hah, I hear you. I have never not had something simple and unexpected happen to me.... That's why the car has been garaged for 6 months, so I have had plenty of time to tear the car completely apart and rework/replace what I want and hopefully fix a lot of the little shit... But yeah, i more than double my carpayment on small stuff each month, let alone the credit card i use for mod money is all tapped out... so I definately hear ya stan, just make sure you hang around here.

10019, RE: Turbo kit for sale (for real this time) Posted by klipzracer, Nov-25-01 05:55 AM
i hear ya too stan. that's why i'm selling the RS and modding the GSX. i'll have an extra 460 a month to play around with and i can get a bike. and if i brake something on the gsx big again i can just by a junk car and use parts off that. oh and get the WRX. awd is the ish!
