Heres my situation, I've ordered a Walbro 225 fuel pump for my turbo setup. The problem is, I ordered it from the worst business I've ever delt with, Concept Illusion Motorsports. It's been a week now, no word from them, I've left 3 voicemails, 4 e-mails and filed a dispute with paypal. These people are thiefs.

I figure that I'm not going to get this part, and I have to get this turbo on by next week. Is there some kind of temporary solution to this?

I wouldn't consider them thieves, they are known to be very slow to ship orders though. As far as solutions, you can still install the turbo, just remove the spring from your wastegate (external) or if it's internally gated you can remove the actuator arm from the flapper, these methods will prevent the car from being able to build boost so you can drive normally. Once you get the pump in, reinstall and you're good to go.

Yeah, I had the same problem with them. I don't mind waiting for something, I just want to know whats going on. But in the end they do have some good prices they just don't have good communication, and they get you the product. It just might be 2 months later:( I haven't bought anything from them since my experience, its a shame, all they had to do was tell me the truth.

+1 though, you don't want to run the stock fuel pump on a turbo set up.

yes and concept illusions is the reason why my car is sitting in the backyard for 3 months with a 4,500 race engine that ran for 3 hours before it got so rich it could barely idol..... so.... i'd stay away from them from now on as well.

Why was it running rich? Sounds like a fuel system problem to me, not an engine problem.

I ordered a EGR Block-Off kit through them and talked to Shawn before ordering and he said I would get it in about a week and I did. That is the only purchase I have made with them and it was a good experience.

Yeah my first order was a breeze. I ordered an oil pump and a motor mount and got it in no time, but the second and third were a pain so I decided not to order from them again. Like I said before, all I wanted was the truth and to know what was going on with my order.

And yeah like ^ said, thats a fuel problem if it is running to rich. How do you know that it is running rich though? If it is idling like crap, check for a vac. leak. Check the plugs and see what they say, rich or lean.

Ordering from Concept Illusions is a crap shoot. The only thing that betters your odds is talking directly to Shawn. He has no problem employing VERY incompetent workers who suck at their job.

I have ordered from them twice, one time was a week(thanks Shawn)....the other was 3 months. I wouldn't recommend them to anyone until they get a better reputation on their delivery times.


As for bypassing the flapper, just keep it under 3K rpm's with minimal load. Also plan on spewing a bit of oil out of your turbo since the positive pressure in the compressor housing is one of the barriers which keeps the oil inside the center housing. When you have higher oil pressure inside the center housing than there is air pressure in the compressor housing.....oil will be forced out. You still have constant backpressure on the turbine side with the exhaust flow so that isn't an issue.

I had a wonderful experience with Concept Illusions.

I ordered a 180* thermostat from them, and they sent me some BIG ass thermostat from a truck or something! I sent them a picture of the stat they sent me, and then of a 420a stat, and they swore theirs was the correct one, and that I pulled my stock one out of my ass, because they sell so many of them.

Like Paul says, yes. Make sure to not build any boost though or you may be saying "bye bye" to your engine.
