to anxious to wait for my little projects to be done so I thought up a kit. This was my plan, but just looking at the engine bay it deosnt look like it will even fit. ordered the 14b and about to buy fuel mods. the kit geos like this:

hacked 2g manifold
1g curshed BOV
srt-4 oem intercooler
ic piping
12:1 fmu
walbro 255 hp
missing link
fuel lines
guages
custom downpipe

I didnt know if the manifold would just throw everything out of wack, and if the intercooler would even fit those are my only 2 concerns i can just fab a manifold if it deosnt work, but if not then thats what i want to go with.

depending on what year your motor is...You may want to X out the missing link and add an FCD from an active member. Mike sells them on here I think. I'm sure he post once he see I mentioned his name. and also you make want to go ahead and get rid of the 12:1 fmu and get a vortec SFMU. kinda pricey but well worth it. last of my opions for now...you should just suck it up and get a manifold thats made for a turbo(Hahns or star). just my opionon that doesnt matter.

There is nothing wrong with running a regular FMU besides the fact that you can't tune it. It keeps the engine nice and happy by running a bit rich, but you probably would want that if your on stock internals still. The SFMU is a great piece, but if you doing a basic, budget buildup, an FMU is perfectly fine.

Now about the manifold, rob is right. If you plan on using a 14b turbo, you would be better off making your own manifold from scratch than to try and salvage a 4g63 turbo manifold and try to make it work. If you haven't bought the turbo yet, I would suggest going with something that uses a T3 flange as many manifolds for our cars that are being sold use that flange. Hahn's and Star's (and Star knockoffs) use that flange pattern and they are very good manifolds.

FCD was what i ment not missing link, my bad. I have stock internals for now thats why im going with fmu when i get the money ill get MS along with internals but not for a while cuz saving is my weak point. For now i was going with the 14b cuz I got one for $75. As for the manifold the reason i wanted to try it is because I have the resources and time to chop it up and put on a 420a flange and didnt want a log style, but I know better that it really deosnt make a difference so I will piece together my own to save myself a headache. But for the most part I'm excited and am thinking this will work together nicely. Thanks for the input guys.

I think if you attempted to use the 4G63 manifold with a 420a flange, the turbo would either run into the starter or into the fans on the radiator. At least that's what I read one time.

ya thats what i was worried about by the looks of it.

I do believe the exhaust ports don't line up well enough to warrent the use of a modded 4G63 mani.

i think the intercooler will fit fine

If the fans are indeed in the way...buy smaller fans and put them in front of the radiator and make them pusher fans they dont usually cool quite as well but I havent had problems with mine yet. mine actually keep it cooler than before but I only had one fan worker before. the best thing to do at this point is to search around and get ideas of what would work best.

i'm not a fan of buying things twice and i'm sure nobode else is either. i recomend a begi-bell sfmu. a bit pricy, but i love mine. you can offset the cost of the sfmu with making a log mani, then wrap it and it will look cool.

Isn't that the same as the craptech(Cartech) unit that comes with the Hahn kits?? Those are the biggest pieces of crap and just about everyone who has had one on here already swapped it out for a Vortech S-FMU.

I've personally never heard anyone recommend that brand before, most people go with the Vortech unit that I've seen.

Yeah, that is the same one Hahn uses. I have a sfmu with the rings and disk and the bleeder valve if you are intrested. I would stick with the Vortech for rising rate regulators.

the SRT4 FMIC isn't going to work unless you modify the inlet/outlet.
