99319, wastegate flange questions Posted by tbone, Mar-05-07 08:13 AM
I have log style mani that had a 38mm wastegate added to it. I got the mani second hand, but its in pretty good condition. I want to replace the wastegate flange as it looks like Stevie Wonder welded it on there.
I have looked all over but all I can find what I am looking for. I have found the flanges. Does anyone sell a wastegate flange with a few inces of piping attached. I am looking for piping and flange to be stainless aswell.
If these parts dont come pre-assembled, is there anywhere that I can get the piping?
Thanks Tom

your local exhaust shop should be able to fix you up as far as the pipe goes, the flange you can make it if you trust yourself cutting and drilling not the hard really. go to the scrap yard I'm positive you'll be able to find a scrap piece of stainless that'll work just fine should be about 1/2 think I believe...maybe one of these other guys will know more about it.

That's absolutely naive of you, and they're absolutely right.
The owner and founder of 2GNT, as well as myself, and dozens of other 2GNT'ers have all relied heavily on RRE's help, and consider them one of the best DSM shops anywhere in the world.
RRE built, installed, and tuned my HRC turbosystem back in 2001, and constantly help me out ever since. A lot of their comments on that page are directly influenced by their experience with my car and turbokit.

My 2GNT was 300hp and cost about $8k in mods alone to get there.
My 2G TSi factory turbo car was 250hp, and cost $4k total including purchase price. If I had used that $8k in mod money on my TSi, It would be well over 600hp.
Too many 2GNT nubs miss or choose to ignore this simple fact. RRE is just stating the facts.
