Hey! My turbo kit is almost complete and I am going to be installing soon, this is what I have:

T3/T4 Turbo (Star)
Cast Manifold (Star)
Greddy Type RS BOV
Tial 38mm Wastegate (8.7psi spring)
Custom I/C and piping
Custom Downpipe
Vortech SFMU
Walbaro 255hp
30lb. Injectors, gauges, etc...

My question is the vacuum lines, I have no idea which goes where and how much to order, and what size... Any info, guide, diagram, or anything can help. The HRC instructions gave me a little info, but I want to see others opinions. Thanks!!

Not much to do with vac lines. You need to run a line for the BOV. I ran mine right into the Throttle Body vac source. Then, since your not using a boost controller and your wastegate is already set for you, just run a vac line from the side of the wastegate to the side of the turbo and your set there. Then you just need to run a line from the back of your intake manifold to your boost gauge and your set. I use just normal 1/4" vac line. You can use silicone hose as well. Just use small clamps or good tight zip ties to hold the lines down. Good Luck with the install :thumbsup

As long as the wastegate, S-FMU, BOV and boost gauge all are connected to the vacuum ports on the intake manifold in some way or another, you'll be all set to go. The line size depends on the inlets on the gear. Most wastegates and BOV's are around 3/16"-1/4" so just measure what all of the inlets are and get any appropiate vacuum line "T" fittings to distribute the correct size line to each unit.

There *should* be a port on the compressor housing for a vacuum line to attach to.

If there isn't a port, just tap your in in your piping near the turbo. Oh shit, I think I ran mine in after my i/c, hmm, I guess I'll see how that works out for me! I might have a little lag on my actuator response for my e01.

You should be worring about running your fuel lines for your sfmu! That was a bitch and a half for me. Not to mention I got drenched in gas for a stupid mistake. I love my eclipse!
I got all my fuel stuff from jegs for pretty cheap and fast shipping (2 days).

do you have a missing link or fcd? Your gonna need oil lines too and the parts to tap your pan.

Yeah I have feed and drain oil lines all set, to me that seems like it will be the easy part lol. The fuel set up is the only thing that is scaring me now. Did you use steel braided or 3/8" rubber hose for your fuel set up? I am going to use rubber, but I have seen people using both, suggestions?? Oh and I have an FCD i bought from mike.

If you want to go cheap, just use 3/8 rubber fuel pressure hose, it works fine, I used it when I was first boosted before I switched to SS line.

As for the line for the turbo to wastegate, there is a hole in the intake side of the turbo, thread a little hose barb in there and just run a vac line from the side of the turbo to the side of the wastegate.

Yeah, just check for a cap or something that may be screwed into the compressor housing. Take that out if you have it and then find a hose barb like Mike said above and screw it in. Should be able to find one at a hardware store in the plumbing section.

My turbo didn't have one of those..maybe I'm blind. If your going to go through the hassle of running fuel lines, jsut spend an extra 40-50 on stainless and you never have to mess with it again. Why do something that you know your gonna have to tear into again before too long?

I understand fully what you mean, but my dad is a mechanic and I have a spool of 3/8" rubber fuel hose lol...

i wouldnt run rubber fuel hose to the back of the car . thats asking for trouble . dont let the anticipation scare you . it took me a half hour to run my entire sfmu setup .

I think I will get SS line for the return, but since I have all this rubber I will probably use it in the bay. Thanks for the info again guys! It amazes me how much I learned/learn from this site. I just got my SFMU and wastegate in. All thats left is the SS Line, gauges, and injectors.
