I have been doing some searching only to find some old topics about this. Now i know i have seen acouple of those who have done it but i am looking for a good how to on how to do this. Also wondering what most do to get the waste gate to mount up(i first wanted to weld one acouple of bolts to screw it onto, but now i am thinking to make a plate to mount to the existing bolt holes and just drill up some new ones). Also pics would be awsome if anyone has em

OK, your post is kind of confusing with the wastegate question. Re-word it a little better so we can help you out.

To clock a turbo, there are some bolts holding the compressor and exhaust housing on. Loosen all the bolts and you should be able to spin the housings. This is a picture of my Garrett turbo, but it should be similar I would think. I circled the bolts that have to be loosened so you can kinda get the picture (no pun intended) about which ones I'm talking about. Hope this helps you a bit.

I know for clocking the turbine side there is a vband clamp that needs to be losen to move that. Then to move the compressore side, from what i understand there should be 4 ormore bolts to remove to spin that side (can't say for sure cause its not in front of me)


what i mean for the waste gate is that the hahn turbos are designd to have the wastegate in just one spot, to move it i will have to get crafty. So i am wondering if it would be best to weld in two bolts to mount it to or to have like a circle plate to mount it on(i think i am explaining it bad but i hope you get it)

With Hahn and MHI turbos, there aren't bolts holding the compressor cover on... it's held on with a huge split ring. To clock the compressor housing, you'll need to remove the split right, turn the housing, then replace the ring.

As for the wastegate... if you want to retain the internal gate, that's going to be tough... it'll probably require welding nuts or otherwise threaded pieces of aluminum to the housing in the appropriate spots - not a job for a novice.

Perhaps there's a way to make a relocation bracket?

yea, i just got home from work and i am looking at the turbo. You are right about the compressor side(looks like it will be a pain to do), do you need a special tool to remove that?

I also got a buddy that can make me a relocation bracket but now i am wondering if i should just give hahn a call and see if they will do it for a ressonable cost(i think i live less then an hour away)

I shop there. Before you get to Meiers, the tornado Siren.....thats hazelcrest turn left (if going north). Second street is Meadowbrook Dr, turn right. Halfway down the block address 2215 (no number on house, see white mailbox) I have a double driveway I share with the neighbors.

If i dont answer the front door, knock on the garage door.

Are you using the hahn manifold or a different one? Bring the manifold with so we can get it clocked to the right angle. All you need are snap ring pliers but its sensless to buy a set if you wont use them again.

Weld up the original bolt holes, drill some new ones. Bolt the wastegot down to those. Seems straightforward to me :)
